Hi everyone, hope your all doing well and cushti!
Ive been thinking how to approach this project and just had an idea i think is worth mentioning, it is in two parts:
Part 1
For many of the previous projects i have been using video, this has meant that I haven't yet had the opportunity to properly learn and explore the technical usage of studio spaces i.e. lighting, model directing etc.. I am prepared to devote a lot of time in the studio and learn to create high grade photographic images. It would be great to get a group of people to help each other out and to develop shooting and studio skills together, in a gruop we would be able to progress a lot faster as every person would bring something different. We would end up obtaining skills and experience that can be utilised in the 'real world' so to speak...
Part 2
Most of us are going to have to financially support ourselves after we leave LCC and it would be great to be able to do that using photography (Its one of the many reasons I came to university). As the project develops I would like to take some sort of entrepreneural approach - this could involve exploring the market, creating a website, approaching companies... essentially offering a photographic service and marketing it. This seems like to perfect opportunity to do so because we have access to loads of top notch equiment for free.
This is just a loose idea and requires more thought, It could tie in with other projects people suggested.
Also the two parts are not bound to each other, for example if someone wanted to develop their studio skills but then doesn't have any interest in the second part then it wouldnt matter and if someone felt that they do not need to add to their studio skills but thinks they could contribute to the entrepreneural aspect then that would be cool also. It is very open at the mo...
Let me know what you think.

I like this one. We've been doing all this conceptual malarkey for ages now so it might actually be a good idea to focus on things that are commercially viable and will actually feed us while we get up and running after uni.
ReplyDeleteI really love the idea of us working together in a studio to create images that we could use in the future, of a high quality. I'm definitley up for spending alot of time also learning exactly how to use every piece of equipment that our studios provide. XX
ReplyDeleteme too..i can light but i definatly could do better and that doesnt happen working on your own, if we are organised we can really get our work up to a higher standard.
ReplyDeleteHey, I am one of the exchange students from Bielefeld, I don´t think we have met yet?My first interest was to organize an exhibition (I´m still interested in doing that), but I really like the entrepreneural aspect of your idea, as well as I like to advance my studio skills, lets talk on friday,
ReplyDeletesee you!
