Ideas...

Hi everyone,

When we were first briefed about this project my initial thoughts were about creating some kind of publication (printed or online-probably the latter as it would make things a lot more achievable money-wise). Including interviews with established artists/photographers, maybe drawing on contacts made through the ppd project, inviting artists working in other mediums (whether at LCC or not...) to contribute as well as obviously using the bulk of the magazine to show case our own work... i think would all really help in our networking and confidence to do so. I think this mode of distribution of our work would also be a great opportunity to push ourselves in terms of working as a group, all taking on specific roles and responsibilities etc.

Obviously this idea is mainly about the mode of dissemination, i'm totally flexible about content and think it would be good if this was quite broad anyway to allow to diversity....something that could be discussed and decided as a group. The magazine and publishing industry is somewhere i can really see myself working in in the future so would like to use this project to explore this and maybe it could turn into something that as a group we could continue beyond this term.

Although only a few people have put ideas up here but it seems that the general ideas are looking to culminate in an exhibition... this is something i'm also very interested in doing and like the ideas being put forward about exploring the theme of identity, how and through what this is done (Mia).

Have people already begun forming groups? And does anyone know when we have to present our projects to the group and tutors?
