Public space, buildings or objects.

Hi People,

This is just something that's been floating around my head for a little while now. I'm still undecided but I'm leaning heavily towards reinterpreting and experimenting with public space and objects, exploring social context, identity or how people are able to identify with them (Mia and Emile..), if at all, possibly toying with that idea through installation, adding or taking away an ability to identify with said object or place. Right now it's pretty broad in terms of where or how this can take place, but I like Emile's suggestion of identifying one area/place/building and all of us working around that in our own ways.

I've been looking at the work of Christo and Jeanne-Claude as an example for an approach, environmental art etc.. Obviously matching the scale would be impossible, but this is definitely something I'm interested in and would like to expand on. The place we choose would then also become our exhibition space, or at least where possible.

I've been in touch with an architect I met at an opening for a place he designed. He was very interesting and had a lot to say about the sort of work we try to do. He suggested a collaboration and I've already spoken to him about this terms project. I think he could add an interesting perspective to this whole thing.

I think if we get together and throw around some ideas etc, we could come up with some interesting..what do people think? constantincerdan@gmail.com
